workplace love

my friend and co-worker, AJ, has lost her dog. A sweet and cute little thing that disappeared while in the care of someone else while AJ was out of town. Needless to say, she is distraught. The dog has been missing since last thursday. It's not looking too hopeful, unfortunately.

AJ and i have a good relationship and we sit right across from each other. Our work space is very open and there is no privacy. Everyone can hear what everyone else is saying. AJ and I will frequently get into a banter that sounds much harsher than it really is...people who hear us will comment that we are like "an old married couple." It's true. That is exactly what we sound like sometimes. It's hilarious because she is like 17 years older than me, but often times, i feel like I am the older one. Anyway, one colleague in particular will often try to get us to "calm down" when he thinks we are "fighting" too much.

given the sensitivity of Aj's current situation, I was especially nice and comforting today. I went over to her desk a few times to just give her a hug and listen, etc.. So, when the one colleague who thinks we fight too much walked by i said, "hey, do you notice how nice I am being to AJ today?" "Yeah" he said, "It's like the love pit over there."

cracked me up

i hope the little pup comes back safely...

I hope so, too. It's terrible to lose a pet. The person who lost your friend's dog must be feeling pretty terrible, too.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Yeah I'm actually not too sure which is worse- loosing your dog while in the care of someone else or being that person who lost the dog. Shit, this situstion is a total nightmare. Tell her to hire a psycic, they will help her find the little guy. That's what I would do-

Tell the dude who likes to listen to you two 'flirt' to get back to work.

I feel so bad for AJ. I can't imagine losing one of my girls. And the friend who was caring for the dog must feel aweful too.

Have they hung flyers with a photo of the dog, in the area the dog went missing? Placed adds in the paper? Checked with the shelter and rescue groups? Called the local vets?

"Crew" was in the care of AJ's ex-husband...so you can imagine how angry and disappointed she was to hear the news....and YES, he does feel incredibly horrible.
They have posted flyers, called shelters, etc...
She has a tag on so you would think someone would call. Do ya'll think someone could have found her and just kept her?

what kind of dog was it?

Sounds like you've got a work spouse.

Hoping her dog is found safe and sound. Yes, it IS possible someone found and kept it, especially if it's a sweet dog and had slipped out of its collar. Have they blanketed all the vet offices with flyers? If someone found it, and is keeping it, they will probably take it for a check up.

Oh man! That's never a great situation to be in, fingers crossed that the dog gets found so you and your friend can go back to being the 'old married couple'.
